Yes I know this quote about fate is blatantly stolen from The Terminator and often quoted but it isn’t really something I believe. I have written before about how I believe our lifes are mapped out and that in many ways free will is an illusion. When we make a choice we were always ment to make it, to take that path.
Fate – you can’t escape it.
If we accept this to be true, that our lives follow a predetermined path, who then determines it? Some would say God I suppose, and others the universe. I’m not sure I believe in an omniscient entity that oversees things either, which makes it difficult to believe in a predetermined destiny as well. On the other hand, the idea that life just happens with no rhyme or reason is odd too.
I adore the whimsical nature of the fates, those three sisters that weave the cloth of life. The story that we were all created with 2 heads, 4 arms and 4 legs, separated into 2 beings who will search the earth for their other half, or soul mate, forever.
But then I wouldn’t want to.
I suppose it comes dowm to a simple thing. I want to believe that some things are meant to be, I want to believe in soul mates and true love. I want to believe that two people can br brought together by fate, destined to be together forever.
Why?
Simple, I want to believe that I was destined to meet Mr. H. He makes me and my life better just for being in it, and I honestly do not know where I would be without him, especially given the last few years. The idea that fate brought us together, I don’t know, makes it a little more magical I guess.

I like the direction you took with this Sweet. I completely forgot about the fates! I believe fate had a hand in bringing pet back to me. ☺️

I’m glad I reminded you! I love the old stories like these.
Sometimes some things just are fate, meant to happen. Yes, maybe because of choices we have made earlier, but still, meant to happen 🙂

I think so x
I like the idea of soul mates too – i was told once you can have up to 7 of them in a lifetime and some are friends and some are lovers

Oh I’ve not heard that one, but I like it!
My Queen is my soulmate! No if’s or but’s! And while we make choices all the time, fate plays with the results! lol
